DID YOU KNOW?

Every year committed neighbors also help to clean up the Square. Since the group likens its chores to au pairs, they call themselves that, but with a different spelling: “OH, PEARS!”.

QUOTE

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world— indeed, it’ the only thing that ever has.”

EDENS, Project Benefactor

PROJECT BENEFACTOR:

Employees of EDENS, the company that owns and manages South Bay Mall, freshen up the landscape in Edward Everett Square. Every year EDENS does a “service day”, where employees dedicate their time for volunteer work in the community. In October 2016 the EDENS crew, twenty strong, aided by ValleyCrest Landscaping, rid the Square of weeds, swept the plaza, loosened the soil of the flower beds, laid down mulch, and planted hydrangeas, roses, and ornamental grass

As a community-based initiative to maintain this important historic and civic space, the Edward Everett Square Committee relies on the support of public-spirited business groups, organizations and individuals.
