Edward Everett Square in the early 1900’s
The yellow house in the center background was the birthplace of Edward Everett in 1794. A large multi-family three-decker is in its place today. In the background, right, is the William E Russell School. Note the greenery in the circle and at Boston Street, and the absence of traffic. Edward Everett Square in the early 1900s appears positively bucolic compared to a century later.
