Members of the Edward Everett Square Committee and the Dorchester Youth Collaborative clean the pear

Working under instruction of professional bronze fabricators and art conservators, community volunteers have been cleaning the bronze artwork since it was first installed. Natural soft soap, water and plenty of elbow grease help wash away surface deposits from diesel trucks, automobile emissions and acid rain. This activity not only helps preserve the piece, but allows members of the community to become connected and invested in the artwork.
